Annual "Night the Lights Come On" will be Saturday in Shenandoah

Shenandoah, Iowa is holding their annual "Night the Lights Come On" on Saturday, with the theme "Home Spun Holidays".

Regular events such as the live reindeer carriage rides and Santa Claus are planned for this years event, as well as some newer attractions for the family.

Marketing Director of the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry, Shelly Werner, says this year's event will be a magical experience for the whole family.

"This year our theme is Home Spun Holidays and so we've incorporated some new things.  We have our regular live reindeer and Santa downtown beginning at three, and horse-drawn carriage rides.  They'll be free hot dogs, everything is free.  Carriage rides and Santa will be there from 3 to 5.  And these live reindeer are really kind of spectacular to see so it's well-worth a trip."

The theme "Home Spun Holidays" centers around Shenandoah's quilting community. Many artistic quilts will be on display in storefront windows, and will also be available for purchase. For more information on "Night the Lights Come On" contact the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association.
